Company is waiting to clear the decks after pension adjustment. Offer is coming sometime after January for craft. 5 years added to age and service, $10k per year of service.

Folks had the same negative attitudes in ‘89 and ‘98 about an offer…and yet the company did, in fact make offers that were too good to refuse. History is going to repeat itself.

Sounds very much like the 1998 VRIP offer made to management. So, they’ve done it before.

If they want people to leave they need to surplus them, fire them, give them low performance evals, or give them a package. AT&T learned a very expensive lesson when the best employees took the voluntary packages a few years ago. My guess is they were tired of being Boxer in Animal Farm, working themselves to death while everyone else was lazy.

If only your BS was believable, but it’s so out there that it makes it laughable! You achieved what you wanted, you got everybody to laugh at how ridiculous an offer you made up!

Offer is Coming...

How freakn delusional can you be! There is no offer coming , period! If you get laid off, you get what you get, period! They're not gonna offer people to leave voluntarily for monetary packages! Get real!

When they check the DO NOT REHIRE box, they just don't want to kick you to the curb, they want to destroy you!

And they can "blacklist" you by checking the DO NOT REHIRE box. What's the one question other companies ask when doing a background check on a perspective employee?

There’s no reason to make an offer when then can just surplus who they want. Plus they get the personal satisfaction of forcing people out instead of allowing them to leave on good terms.

2 years ago I Took the 125K they offered me I was leaving anyway. I never looked back!….. Plus I still got the health insurance subsidy from AT&T that they stopped offering after January 1 of the next year after I left. With pension cash and 401(k) walked out of there with 1.5million & done with the id--t micro management.

Stop torturing yourselves, there isn't going to be an offer in bargained for technicians!
It's too busy in the BFS sector for T to give up any techs prematurely!

The company is contractually capped on laying off represented technicians. However, if employee accepts voluntary offer, AT&T saves $100k plus benefits annually per employee. Last I checked, the workload is on the slow side. It’s a no brainer. The company pays pennies on the dollar to finally rid themselves of CWA and can reshape the workforce to meet the needs of the business going forward.

Why make an offer when they can simply sell an entire business unit and force everyone to rebadge?

Wow, you are full of it! Stop spreading fake info. Why do companies need to pay you a huge amount of money to get rid of you?

Verizon is in debt at $136B. Dont see them making any offer to reduce workforce.

Verizon does have a sh-t load of debt. They currently have about $136B in debt. Most, if not all of this debt is from the acquisition of a 45% stake of Verizon Wireless owned by Vodaphone in 2014 for $140B USD. AT&T and Verizon are both laden with extreme debt. Dont be surprised if at some point in the future they both go bankrupt.

That kind of offer is not in any of the companies contracts and would have to be approved by the union. That will NOT happen, it would cause the union to lose too many dues paying slugs.

The union is a business just like any other and they would never agree to losing that much revenue, er., members.

Yeah, and Verizon doesn't have $135B in debt either and could certainly afford that kind of offer! Don't expect it from T anytime soon cuz you would be dreaming.

The craft surplus announcement date is 12/15 with and off payroll date by the end of March at the latest. They aren’t going to be making an offer like this a couple of weeks after a surplus is announced and is in effect. If they were going to do something like this, which we all know they won’t, it would happen before a surplus.

The company is not offering anything. Too many would want to exit and the company can’t afford the offer.
What a ridiculous post by someone just trying to stir the top.

All you're doing here with this statement is hoping somebody with influence will read your id--tic post and actually be offered to craft. Well here's a news flash for you, you're
dreaming! It's not gonna happen and hasn't happened in over 20 years! Those types of offers are obsolete! STOP Spreading ridiculous rumors! At least make them somewhat credible if you're trying to spread a rumor!

A similar offer was made in 1998. If AT&T wanted to get rid of CWA, this would do it.
