@1bhg Many of us have been "going to work" everyday without being in a physical office.

Agree with the post below that this is likely someone that doesn't work at Ford or there is more to the story (change in position or responsibilities). If a team has been working remote since 2020 and a manager tried to mandate 5 days a week, they would get laughed at.

If you don't want to do what's asked of you for the job, quit.

If your only reason to work from home is personal, you are selfish. If your work from home does not benefit the business in any way, you're in no way entitled to it.

You got to be kidding! If you want a job, go to work! You need to work out your own personal issues. It's not Ford's problem. They have hired you to do a task, they pay you for that task. If you can not do the task asked, then you quit.

Farley's words are slick. The inference is "we aren't going to make you RTO, but of you don't then you'll get laid off in the next round".

Watch the Ford sheep hurry been into the office! 🤣

Discuss with your boss, or look for a better team internally.

Do not call HR - HR protects the company, not you. Do not discuss with your boss anymore. Do not provide any details. Sadly, you will need to look for another job. Maybe you can get the VSSP package and get 9 months pay.

Quit and go to work for another company.

Tell that lower level LL that you are returning and switch to a better team or company

Farley's Town Hall said we wouldn't follow GM and that "people are adults and responsible to make good decisions" in regards to returning to the office. No one size fits all......

In July 2021 my calibration supervisor said come back to the not open TEE building. I asked if I had a desk and he said no so I said let me know when you have an official office space set up. As a result I got moved to a different group who was happy to have me. I got SIRP so all worked out in my favor. I guess management at higher levels already ki---d ICE vehicles and Covid just helped it along. TEE and APTL are relics that will only get the minimal oil to the door hinges going forward.

I'd try to work something out with your boss, but unless your position has been formally designated as fully remote (not sure how that works), I'd say there's nothing you can do other than look for another position inside of Ford.

This is a conversation to have with your boss. This message board is for complaining, not solving problems.

Fyi, not wanting to pay for daycare does not count at 'family reasons'

I am OP. Staying vague to keep from being identified. This is legit.

Yep, no details just "boss wants it" suggests troll. If OP does have legit family issues keeping him at home, eg parent with full blown dementia or Alzheimers, then they should've already gotten the ball rolling to get classified as full-time remote.

Unless you have a site dependent job, they can't force you in. Call HR. Thinking though this is a troll post because nobody has to go in just because.
