They are doing two things - st-----g the egos of those they want to keep another year or two and laying cover for any lawsuits. It is the same game IBM has played for years. Ford is following the same playbook on their journey to 15% NA and Europe salaried employees. Look it up, IBM reached their goal, Ford is following right along and in a few short years will be at their goal of 15% NA and Europe salaried employees.

With all due respect, can we please not use the phrase 'poor performers'. In this modern era of diverse and equal employment we are all on the same team working towards the same thing in regards to the company prosperity and long term success. Of course there are different performers in the workplace and just like some people use different pronouns, some people may choose an alternate work adjective. Actually, I would think at F we would want a standardized list of work adjectives all fit into but in reality they would be all on the same level with just different descriptors. In term of who the VSSP would be offered to it may fall under one or two of the adjective groupings but we need to remember ALL are equal and on the same level. It's actually pretty easy to grasp this with a somewhat open mind.

@idv+1j8bVzji You must be a GSR. I am a boss. People Leaders are being suggested (aka told) who should be given declining quarterly performance from their boss. If it makes you feel better thinking you currently are not a poor performer, then ok. Why do you think BCG suggested going to quarterly pr?

Obviously you did not receive the email stating clearly this offer is indeed only for poor performers. Just ask your boss. Only poor performers can get it.

Come on folks stop helping Ford management by spread their BS
Use your noggins - they are not targeting poor performers. They need to say this to protect themselves as those who don’t take the voluntary offer end up on the next involuntary list.
