Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

Is EM a multinational company or a US company?

Does EM identifies itself as a US company with global operations or a multinational company ?
It does affects the company's strategy towards other countries.

In the Permian we aren’t allowed to have uniforms or hats with the American flag on them. Pretty pathetic. Another reason to go to Chevron. Their FRs have American flags on them.

Totally US company. Here in Europe we used to retain a European operating mindset and culture, albeit with American parents. Now it's 100% American culture, which respectfully doesn't fit with many people in this region. Commitment and engagement thus declines unfortunately.

US centric mindset. Commodity business.

Moving services and transactions to low cost centers like SE Asia, India and Latin America. Even to the extent that many US employees will report to foreign nationals who ultimately will move operations to their home countries.

Managers and execs will pat themselves on the backs and give themselves huge salaries for the structural cost savings. The rest of us worker bees just get pats on the back.

Five years ago, I would have said it was a global company with HQs in the US.

Now, it feels very much like a US company who want to drive out HC10 countries with focus on developing low cost / transactional TCs / GBCs.
