Many years ago I called at&t to order satellite TV, this was before the acquisition to SBC. After a few weeks I got buyers remorse, called at&t back and cancelled my order. Approximately seven weeks later I received a check in the mail from at&t for $200. It was legit, I cashed the check. When was the last time you were paid to "not use" a companies service? I couldn't believe it. There was a rebate of $200 for signing on, you would have thought if an order was cancelled, it would nullify the rebate. It makes me wonder how much money at&t threw away like this.

at&t sent me a check because I'm the best looking customer they have. Money well spent.
AT&T sold Satellite TV before the SBC merger? I don't remember that, and I was a DirecTV customer in the late 90's.
I brought my own phone to at&t and turned on service with a 30 day satisfaction guarantee and at day 25 turned off my service then about 25 days later I received a check for around $750. Never did call at&t but did cash the check & it cleared. Told a friend that worked at at&t cellular and she said it was the refund for the phone. I thought what phone I brought my own but didn't say a word. Kept my phone. Kept the check. Drove over to TMobile and get a free new phone, cheaper service with more data. Happy ever since.
I think T wastes $$ all across the business. Unused tools for techs, unused T3’s tgat are supposed to work in conjunction with other telecoms lines. Erroneous bills rendered. Need I say more?
