Thread regarding U.S. Bank layoffs

I am not paid enough to do all that work

Responsibilities are growing, workload is increasing and I feel very underpaid. Unfortunately, I have a feeling that if I stay here, I will become even more underpaid.

Do those at the top really think that employees will continue to make efforts as before if they have more and more to do without being adequately compensated for it? Or maybe nobody here cares about the drop in productivity anymore?

The bank was at one time a destination place to work. New management and a new philosophy. Low pay, long hours, poor raises and bonuses. Everyone is looking for an exit strategy. The long suffering employees can't wait to retire. The smart, young ones get trained and move on. If you are working here and are in your 30s or 40s, you are not doing your family any favors. 20% or more less pay than other companies pay. The bank is awesome in not paying a market rate. Managers here are evil and only care about themselves.

Wow, I’m a year in and make 21.00 an hour for sitting on my bu-t taking phone calls. I’ll take that over slaving in retail for minimum wage any day.

Anyone working here are leaving thousands or tens of thousands in salary on the table. Hope you enjoy working to death and being under appreciated. The bank is known in the industry for being the lowest paying. They know employees don't value pay. If they did, employees would look elsewhere. Long term employees are so taken advantage of, they don't care.

I tried talking to my manager about how low my raise was after I got exceeds expectations on my review. They basically laughed in my face. The next week I started applying elsewhere and that was the best decision I've made in my career. Look elsewhere and I bet you'll get at least a 10k raise for a similar position. U.S. Bank knows they are underpaying and don't care. Find something better for your mental health!

Ask for more money and if you don’t get it, run. If you remain silent, you will continue to be overworked and underpaid while a lot of your coworkers sit around doing absolutely nothing and collecting a paycheck. A lot of USB employees are paid significantly less than those in similar roles at other organizations.

Hard truth. You need to either stop taking on work and accept the fallout, ask for a raise, or take charge and leave! If you don't do anything, then the answer to your question is yes, leadership will expect it because there is no reason not to. Start looking and see what you can make happen! You aren't stuck. You have choices. I've been there!

Absolutely do not feel compensated fairly. Salary is at least 20% below market and what it should be in the real world and that’s before inflation.

Take control of your future and look for something else. Don't let US Bank control you.

If you are in retail banking and your a banker the one who pays the bills by making sales. You are treated with absolute disrespect. Managers get the praise and take monthly meetings for fun while bankers get nothing. It's awful
