Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Our opinions are irrelevant

I don't think I've felt less valued as an employee in any other company I've worked for so far.
Why is it so difficult for people to accept that the leadership does not care at all about our complaints? I think they will never take them into account in their decision making. I try not to pay attention to everything that bothers me here and that I think is wrong. I'm only here for the pay.

Some just put what the company wants to hear on the survey. It's not worth all the time wasting projects and exercises that come after to address the concerns in the survey. I'm not d-mb enough to provide real feedback on on the supposedly 'anonymous' survey.

How are survey numbers so high? They took Q4 Pulse before they started making the layoff calls.

Everyone I know feels the same way. How are survey numbers so high? Are they just making it up?

OP, ask yourself why you seek and yearn for such validation. Why the mommy/daddy please love me desire?

The higher ups listen to the rank and file then do the opposite cause they think they know better.

I get paid $250k to watch up to speed and chit chat on blue jeans and slack . I also tell my team good job even though I have no clue what they do.

Look around you. There are a lot less people that actually do work or serve customers, but the number extremely highly compenensated vps, svps and evps remains the same (or more). They care about themselves, not us or shareholders.

Dqr and doc are the same person, as their incorrect usage of "there" makes it heir apparent. In other words, this website is probably about 3 or 4 of us, posting over and over and over, to deaf ears. It is what it is, folk.

What else would you be here for? It’s work. It’s a simple exchange - You provide a needed skill and your employer provides pay, or benefits…ostensibly it’s something you value to continue providing your labor to.

If you’re looking for morality - Go to church. If you’re looking for intellectual stimulation - read a book.

Unless you are the business owner, everywhere you go will be the same! Grow up.....

Yep, same. Love immediate coworkers but know that upper management doesn't give a rats a$$ about us. There is talk of the workers being older and retiring in a few years so we need to get their knowledge. Guess we be like vampires - suck there knowledge and energy to keep the sinking ship afloat. Retiring is really code for being riffed..IMHO. Probably will need to train their outsourced replacements too.

Long time club member…here for only the pay as well. If leadership doesn’t care about me, why should I care about work?
