Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

What is cisco's strategy against PANW and ZA

How cisco wants to deal with the market dominance of ZS and PANW in the security market. As they pay $500k to an engineer, cisco must invest heavily in security place to attract best talent and attach these companies.

Possible acquisitions: versa networks, force point

They bought a lot of security companies but failed miserably to integrate them all into Cisco's solutions.

I'm still shocked at the lack of planning and integration that went into these security acquisitions. I'm just a grunt/individual contributor, but man oh man some horrible decisions even I knew would be doomed to fail.

Slave remaining engineer to booster productivity and innovation is the strategy.
If engineer show any hesitation for more abusive tasks the punishment is even more unrealistic tasks. It works well in my team.

I have to admit I am one of those engineer hard to find job in the market. Just stay here waiting for LR.

Allow the useless SEDs to milk the work environment and run their fiefdoms while PAN, Zscaler, Fortinet etc. take all our best people and beat us at business. That is the strategy. Cisco's security is a joke and internally its a dying portfolio. They bought a lot of security companies but failed miserably to integrate them all into Cisco's solutions. Result: another SDA type disaster.
