Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

Hey DW!!

Show a little respect and show us you give a sh-it! Restack us but don't take our personal desk/space from us! It is demoralizing and it is just wrong! No self pity here! Just a strong sense of right and wrong and YOU DW ARE WRONG! Ask me to tell you to your face and I will!

I bet he will spare his Life Coach from having to suffer the humiliation of WE3.

A true “leader” does not need a personal life coach.

Yes. Agree on the video. He makes it sound like he’s had it the hardest. And at the same time, he is trying to say that he is some sort of visionary….doing the hard things to move us into the next generation.

First, if you have a compelling case for action, a leader gets their employees onboard first. Then it is one goal….or at least the employees know the end goal (even if they disagree.). To spend two years taking things away from employees first, and then tell them about the objective is silly.

Second, he never even outlined the case for action. He shared one small piece of it. Grouping skill sets together and better IT. We’ve been chasing that for years. So now, why is he going after it while swinging an axe at the employee-base? There is more he is not saying.

Leadership does not participate in many of the out of touch programs that are foisted on the staff. Just watched our Upstream Leader brag about being able to set his calendar to match his preferred time allocations by using his personal life coach and his personal Planner to do the heavy lifting and analysis. So I looked at his career connect profile, and as expected it is totally blank. Undoubtedly these leaders who demand that we spend one month every year filling out and approving skill assessments and development plans and profiles and Leadership Plans and EADS, have never bothered to labor through these marginally useful (highly inefficient) tools.

Watched his interview before post. The video makes his decisions even worse and brings his character into question!

Hot desking is a sacrifice I would make if times hard and trying to cram 14000 people onto campus to grow our business and we all put in our effort.

Hot desking only implemented to mothball another building, during record profits, as workforce shrinking is insulting, degrading, humiliating, and must be the ultimate trailing indicator of poor management/ leadership.

DW and KM must be trying to increase attrition.

Was this posted before or after watching his intranet interview? Give it a watch.

A true leader would also hot desk with the employees. Then the leader understands the ultimate responsibility of wise planning or at least looks like they care about their employees.
