I live 100 miles away from the nearest WF office. I'm praying that they use non-RTO excuses to deny my bonus.

25% of employees still haven't RTO, they will struggle to fire 65,000 people. They are tracking and another large percentage only in 1 or 2 days. So much inconsistency as well means if they start firing people there will be law suits all over the place.

IP tracking ain't gonna work, some people work without logging in to anything all day. Badge is all you're gonna get, and even that won't cover everything.

formal guidance on this subject: noncompliance can be used as a factor in YE evaluation and bonus - a factor, not a hard and fast criteria (in other words, not like the risk overlay_.

Beyond the yearend comp question, there is now language out to managers about how deal with employees who refuse to come into the office, which follows a normal disciplinary action path - conversations documented in workday, then a formal action with HR involved, and consequences "up to and including termination". so for those of you asking why there haven't been terminations yet - it's because this guidance just came out and the party is just now starting.

Like any other performance issue, it takes time to go through this cycle, so it'll be several months before you start to see terms for RTO noncompliance.

To the OP's question - if you get fired for RTO then you are being termed for cause - and you don't get severance.

Badge swipes AND IP address tracking is how they're monitoring for RTO...it's never one metric :)

I would be shocked to hear anyone has been fired for non compliance. There is too much inconsistency and unreliability in reporting. Some people spread across country are in locations that don’t even have badge scans.

As much as people do not want to hear it, RTO is a condition of employment. You can be fired for non-compliance.

Have employees at WF actually been fired for this? Additional info/examples please.

It's freaking Wells Fargo, not google. Folks work here for WLB and convenience. The job is not worth as much as you think.

You could even make the argument that it’s not a firing, it’s job abandonment.

I can't imagine someone willing to lose their job because they don't want to rto, and especially if you were working on the office previously. Get real.
