We know in the past many years, our company kept on layoff employees, why? The main reason was the pressure from H and Z. Basically H and Z received huge amount of subsidiaries from their government. Also from 2000 to 2008, then their labor cost were much much lower, only 1/5 cost for many positions like test, 1/7 for many positions like technical support. H and Z basically used their own low cost to get the contract and caused unemployment of western companies like us and E, Nok, Nor, Moto, etc. Then they established RD center in those cities and hire the experts who lost their jobs because of H and Z.
I need to admit, JC and CR did the right thing to control the company size and spending as well, and we still survive until today. And since the former President stopped the exploit from their country, and current admin restricted their stealing and import on advanced chips. Both H and Z have lost their advantages. Also due to college expansion, their education became worse and worse, the Thousand Talents (espionage) Plan was also stopped. And human costs there also became very expensive. H has been identified as an org with espionage purpose from the Meng confession. H and Z had to get projects from their government to research for their defense and chip manufactures in order to survive.
So now Cisco and E and N are all facing much less pressure than previous years. Also frankly speaking, they had layoff all the people they could. If they continue to layoff employees, that will only damage the normal operations. Cisco wisely stopped hiring during the pandemic while FANG those one blindly increased their employee numbers by 30 or even 50%.
I hope we can get JR back to our board, David, Joe, those veterans back, and learn from H and Z to have our own defense departments to earn more money from government contract so we will be safer. And get rid of the superstition over so called software, AI, ML, those are huge bubbles. Those huge bubbles are breaking.
