Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

EOI

Fellow Chevroids!

For those struggling to hold their nose at the stench of mediocrity, preference for TLAs, fakeness and buzzwords, rather than measurable results - is there a decent likelihood of EoI occurring again soon?

The last of the folks acquired in the last acquisition are desperate to be paid to leave the cesspit, lest we permanently become infected with these behaviours and also become unemployable,... Please. EoI. Let us leave with dignity.

Seems like OP is one of those younger boomers who stuck around in 2020 saying, 'I'll just wait a couple more years for the next EOI..." Looks like you made the mistake of your life. 2020 was the 'perfect storm' of fantastic departure (yr salary, yr medical) and retirement benefits, not likely to be offered again. Now, interest rates are high (and staying there for a while), pension calculations are low, and Chevron only offers EOIs when they're 20% overstaffed, which definitely isn't the case now. Oh, and now you're stuck in the 'transformed' Chevron, which operates like a car with one flat tire.

…to the people addressed in the second part…you know why they all left…just ask yourself how long can you grind in first gear before that’s the only gear you have…don’t forget how to actually work….if this isn’t your long term home then don’t waste time building here…go build there…but don’t ask for them to pay you to leave…..you just have to jump on your own

Life is too short to suffer. Just rio the bandaid off and move on. You will be so glad you did.

We are short on staff everywhere now and hiring most places. A retention bonus is more likely than an EOI right now.

Haha fat chance. Folks were hanging around for years waiting for an EOI. COVID was the only reason why it occurred in 2020. Best o’ lucky

You can EOI any day you want to. Just turn in your two week notice.
