Lots of suggestions about how low cost sites are 'safe'.
What is 'low cost'? If you are looking at your paycheck you maybe not correct. Because labor cost is not the same as payroll. It also includes many other items such as benefits, tax obligations and so on.
There are very few places left even in Asia where high-tech labor is 'low cost' anymore. Maybe Burma. And Cambodia but that's not where the tech companies are

Not to mention those comments ignoring the fact that when an industry is In downturn all jobs have lower demand. So a tech team doing a low complexity job in Vietnam is at the same risk of being 'cut down' as a tech team in Oregon fabs doing a more complex job on advanced machinery. One is not more safe than the other!
