Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Hostile environment

Intel has created a hostile environment by extending this layoff suspense, it has caused undue mental stress and harassment for its employees. Wonder what California law has to say about this. It’s only a matter of time it gets sued for this by the state or its employees.

There are different laws in each state so if you really care, you may want to consult an attorney. If Intel gives you a bogus bad review or tried to make you look bad as justification for a layoff, then you can take action (even in a "right to work" state because a bogus bad review is fraudulent and also a form a slander etc....

Handling layoffs at companies is part of being professional. It is part of the agreement you sign when you join any company. If you cannot handle it, don't accept work offers from companies then. Let's not blow things out of proportion here. We all need to be able to accept the reality and find our own way to navigate pitfalls and move forward rather than sobbing and complaining like a spoilt 5-year old !

It’s perplexing that they make layoff announcement without any details. They create this huge wave and are still in the process of figuring out the details. It’s unfair to put the employees though this while they workout the details.

This layoff is civil and respectful compared to how other companies and industries do it.

You couldn't handle the real world.

@Op has no clue about California law, but then goes on to suggest Intel will be sued, writing 'it's only a matter of time'. I'd say, 'it's only a matter of time' that one of such low intelligence will be laid off.
