Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

A total sh-t show of leadership

They've never promoted talent, those who've won awards and patents. They have so many cr-p Directors and VPs, when a work situation came up mine asked me if I was moody because I shared with her that I was se-----y as----ted while on a run. HR did nothing, didn't even move me off that team and she admitted saying that. They also hire ex insurance sales leadership and resurrect foreign retirees, who probably went into early retirement bc they sucked.

They have no clue what the customer wants, who wants to pay a premium for a telecom service? Which by the way sucks and is dropping calls/texts right left and center as they're a year behind in putting the network into the cloud. Instead of hiring professionals they're using the staff fulfillment company they bough which had a run rate of 20% and massive track record of se-ual abuses.

They'll have an internal audit soon and be sold off probably in the next 5 years.

Leadership does not care to hear the truth. If you say anything that goes against the status quo, you will eventually be pushed out. Just how it is. They pretend to like the truth but they don't. Never go to HR. Go to LinkedIn and click the Looking for a Job button.

Director and above at Vz have so much in bonuses that they'll never leave. golden handcuffs. that's the problem. Just a bunch of "yes" men/women. groupthink. go along to get along, as the ship sinks. get to a director level is your goal - or get the h*ll out.

It was happens when a company goes too woke. When you hire people to fill your little diversity checklist instead of actual talent , you got a company full of d-mbasses

HR is never your friend. Their mission is too look out for the company's interests, not yours.

I’d take it back a step and say the first mistake was sharing info with anyone at work.

OP, sorry for the non-action of upper brass…

I sincerely hope you are right though, spent over a decade with this company, and prideful for the business and my work but upper brass make it increasingly difficult with the poor decisions. Not talking for everyone but I think that’s a lot of people’s perspective.

After having a hand building this company up, and watching it just burn while the firefighters are staring at their phones, type of feeling.

Or as others have said.. just re-arranging deck chairs on the Titanic
