Imagine how his sponsor must feel as they run for cover.

It would be great to see the company finally do something to make women feel comfortable on the stairwells. Maybe they could be frosted like much of the glass on campus? Women have been concerned since the campus was built but my guess is that I&D isn’t important unless you can put a stat next to it.

What a creeper! I remember working in Fairfax in early 2015, just ahead of our move to to the Spring campus, and getting forwarded a warning from women already working there that one had to be careful as people at the bottom of the stairwells (both the open glass ones and the closed emergency ones) could get a ‘good view’ of a women climbing up in a skirt. Never thought someone would actually take advantage of this.

The worst are the comments on some of news sites wondering why he got such a harsh sentencing when he didn’t actually hurt anyone…!!

I am plenty critical of the company. But this one is not their fault. The guy appeared 100% normal. The group around him exhibited the right behaviors, which is how he was caught, fired, and prosecuted.

Yes, perhaps it could have been shared more widely….but only because it is easy to assume work is a safe place and inadvertently let your guard down.

@1tik O&G is an old-boys club, and Exxon takes the cake.

The industry drips with s-xism and every other form of bigotry from top to bottom. This pe-v just took it one step further. My guess is there were guys around him who knew what was going on and didn’t say anything.

Question: how did he even get hired?

Worked with this guy in trading. FYI he was terminated over a year ago and everyone in trading was notified. Has just taken Harris County police this long to gather all the information to prosecute. He was definitely NOT HiPo. He was an entry level analyst.

And suddenly the creepy poster always talking about ti-s and as--s no longer seems benign.

Judging by the pics of a few of the fu--y ones, this HiPo was obviously not as smart as he was supposed to be.

@1iqs+1jIizWTA He was caught in the act and it kicked off an investigation. Known victims were notified. His behavior was not limited to the office place, as you might expect.

Only the best and brightest. 🙄

I’m convinced what’s left after all the talent has left are only yammer leg humper true believers, and those losers who can’t jobs anywhere else.

This dude seems to be both.

@1jwj+1jIizWTA WTF do you mean? You can accuse "O&G" of many things but your comments are over the top, imo.

HR has done their best to sweep this one under the rug. Why is that the entire campus hears about safety incidents but not criminal?

Gross. Did the company notify the women with whom he worked? Clearly someone caught him and had enough evidence to convict.

Nobody who reads the commentary here or who knows anything about the O&G industry should be surprised.

Disgusted I am. Surprised I am not.

He steered ladies away from the glass stairwells on the premise of making them feel more comfortable wearing a dress. Took them to interior stairwells so he could be alone with them.

From another thread:

"Recently saw an announcement for person assigned as “Workplace Violence Investigator”. Do we need a full time violence investigator?"

For s3xual violence, apparently yes! Wonder if EM suspects there's more of this to be uncovered...

Article still there on Click2Houston, but OP's link may not work.
"Investigators learned that Butler would frequently ask female coworkers to go with him to buy coffee or to take walks after long periods of sitting. During the walks, he often recommended that he and his female coworkers use a set of enclosed stairs instead of the elevator."

This is definitely NOT one of the new perks the company is offering to replace the matching and the education and the fair treatment perks of old.
$30K bond seems a little low to me.
Dude doesn't even a have a LinkDin.
