Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Why Intel is failing

I've seen it over and over again: a company starts out as a place where employees feel appreciated, where they can learn new skills, and where there is a sense of unity. Then something happens—it could be an economic downturn or a change in leadership, but whatever it is, it causes a major culture shift. Leaders start to consider themselves better than and inconsiderate of those working under them.
Basically, when an organization loses faith in its members, there's no hope for success. Once that happens, failure seems to be the only option.

Must agree with 1igo+1jJis4fu. Intel has sociopathic dinosaurs whose only skill is managing upward politics and micromanaging, steamrolling everyone beneath. The last decade and half has been a downhill ride. I have rarely seen anyone coming to work with a bright face and keeping it through out the day. Stealing credit, muzzling down voices of team members, stealth ratings with zero transparency, micromanaging by the minute and the hour, apathy and indifference, sugarcoated useless mentoring to "stick to what you are doing and don't ask for career" are the values 90% of Intel managers excel at. And the top level is very successful at handpicking these slave drivers as first level.and mid level managers. Success at Intel highly depends are suck-cess.

Any company culture that nurtures and promotes a$$h0les to management levels is doomed to fail sooner or later. Failure takes time in the case of larger companies since the amount of resources is large enough to absorb the shock waves created by such toxic culture. People who do not give credit to where the credit is due gets promoted. People who do not share information get promoted. There are certain geos (they know themselves very well) that have the privilege of totally going against all Intel culture traits and still do not even get a slap on the wrist from any level of management at Intel. This creates toxicity and drives talent away from the company. Some BUs have turned into ghettos with only employees from one particular country or geo (talking about diversity and inclusion, huh?). How did such structures form and establish themselves? That is where the problem truly is. These red flags are ignored or not noticed, which I think is a major problem. Intel does not need engineers to sort out its problems; social scientists are needed to analyze the company inside out and rectify the people related problems first. Only then technology leadership can be regained.

intel will be fine, you will be fine. just get back to work and focus on doing the best you can. focus on what is in your control. if you feel the need to jump ship due to uncertainty then just do it.
