Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

Is Meraki impacted?

I think Meraki is still growing (double digit growth) - Would this make the likelihood of Meraki layoffs fairly low?

Meraki internal mergers have been going on for a while now and we win all internal mergers. Merged Cisco entities report to Meraki directors or VPs. To date, we lay off Cisco merged employees, Meraki employees in general will be untouched.

Yep, Meraki was impacted. This absurd since they are already very lean.

This happens throughout Cisco. If a business unit hits its quarterly hiring quota, the hire pause button gets pressed. When they receive their next round of funding, they're given the go-ahead again. If you are willing to wait, you'll receive your offer.

Move along, find something better. This rec was frozen or removed.

The higher salaried Meraki employees will be laid off
They will keep the 20 year old with low salaries

Hiring freeze is happening everywhere. Even full extended/written offer got withdrawn, so this is normal in this anticipated down turn.

Meraki is crazy thin already. They will absorbed before they are LR'd. MARKED SAFE.

OK @yzs we'll agree that we are in the middle of a downturn/recession/etc....

Many large tech companies have ceased hiring and/or withdrawn employment offers.

Between the original verbal offer and the actual issuance of the written contract, it sounds as though the post for which you were to be hired was likely placed on hold. It's unfortunate, but if I were in their position, I wouldn't hold it against them personally - they are reacting to changing and uncertain economic situations just like everyone else.

I just applied for an NSE position and successfully completed the entire interview process. Following this, I received a phone call from my recruiter informing me that Meraki would be giving me a job offer. I was quite ecstatic when the recruiter told me I would receive a contract offer, but he never did. I reply to his email, and a day later he informs me that Meraki has temporarily ceased extending offers since the team is at capacity for this year. Although I am still being considered for the position, the recruiter stated that he is uncertain as to when I will be contacted. Have I just wasted my time and also been dismissed? Just wondering if this is how Meraki functions. Even if they wind up making me the offer, I'm not sure whether I'll take it... Has anybody experienced this before?
