Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

New Grads

I know it’s different in different scenarios, but does intel have history of rescinding offers?
Or considering I will be joining in May, and layoffs are still going on, they lay me off a couple of months wishing joining?

I don’t want to renege after signing my offer, but is it so bad, that I should consider it after looking for roles elsewhere?
TIA

I have NEVER heard of Intel just simply rescinding an official offer without giving a buyout (usually 8-12 weeks of pay).

You can't get a job somewhere else? I mean unless you have no other choice, why would you come to this he-l?

I asked a similar question about internship offers and the answers I got were that we should generally be safe since we are some of the cheaper employee's and rescinding offers can permanently hurt their university recruiting in the future. The biggest risk is if your whole group gets eliminated, so as long as you think this wont happen you are probably fine.
