Thread regarding Thomson Reuters layoffs

Make no mistake

Content operations was hit hard. Almost every team lost at least one and many of the teams were already down to single digits. Lots of people who don’t have 35 years yet. Make no mistake. They are trying to sc--w the old timers out of their pensions. People who suck at their jobs are being kept and the ones who have Close to 35 years are being cut. Total b.s.

@ien+1jJs5rfk is 100% on point.

A reply to "Punky" about if our competitors knew how much was being outsourced. They know, problem is they do the same. I'm retired from Tax & Acct. and think it was around 2002 when Intuit sent their support to India. It lasted 30 days from 1/1 to 1/31. They lost a LOT of business and Creative Solutions (as we were known then) picked up a big bunch. It was a good bonus year due to that.

What happens at 35 years? If you were here when the pension was in effect, you still get it even if you have > than 33 years.
They cut my team in half. There are so many things broken in our products. I recently emailed a apathetic employee that they just need to do one of two simple things to get something to work. They haven’t responded to my emails.

If their competitors knew how much is being outsourced to India they could use it in their own company’s sales pitch.

Of course right before Thanksgiving (which is so predictable). All the sentimentality of a mob hit man.
