Knowledge jobs can be easy or difficult. A contractor I worked with worked a full week on a solution to software problem that an experienced employee solved in 5 minutes and this was not uncommon. I'm not trashing contractors, just recalling my experience.
Certain components of my job are easy, but it is the dynamic customer relationships I have fostered, many which have taken years to develop, that are the difficult part. You also could not simply just pluck me from my position and expect that the customer will be fine with the new Joe that walks through the door. Some of that personal capital does translate into dollars. How much? I can't be sure. Am I irreplaceable? Nope. Am I at the whims of a bean counter who would get me laid off if it saves a few bucks here or there? Undoubtedly.
If your job can be done from home, it can be done from offshore.
There's more work sitting in front of my group than we've ever had.
Easily 7-10 years worth of work based on the math we did for the first batch of this work we did two years ago. ( If X number of sites = Y years to complete, then X7 number of sites = Y7 years to complete )
Company thought they would be sneaky hiring Contractors to do the work. ( Yes, it's Union work. No, I don't know how the Union allowed it, but they did. )
In my opinion, it was a test to see if Contractors could do the job with a minimum of disruption. It has failed miserably since the Company refuses to pay for any sort of formal training these days.
You can't just walk in off the street and do some of this work. Too much to learn.
I'm not overly concerned about being laid off. If they want their projects done at all, they need someone here who knows what they're doing.
Is my job too easy? Let me put it this way, I'm productive around 15 hours per week, 20 if it's busy and the rest of the time is mine, but here's the thing, I'm not only not getting laid off, but I'm not going to retire, either! I'm riding this gravy train as long as I can!

You're being played and you think it will gain you something.
Loyalty to sociopathic people and the things they rule over won't buy you much of lasting value. Whatever gratification you get from this will not matter in the long run. It may harm you too.

Why would you purposely try to scare people? A lot of people’s jobs are “easy” because they’ve done it for a while and are good at it. Doesn’t mean anyone could execute at the same level. Get a life and stop trying to scare people anonymously on the internet.
