Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

Elon to lead EM

Give credit to the Elon fanboys. If Elon took over EM like Twitter. Things would look good on both side. Severance packages and a leaner organization

Anything to get rid of the three clowns that are stirring the Exxon titanic.

Just remember: Elon’s businesses are bottom-of-cycle. They are already in a recession. A tech company laying off employees right now at bottom-of-cycle is VERY different than an O&G company with masked-layoffs at top of cycle.

Elon failed upwards with Tesla. He got bailed out by government credits after turning a good company into a cash incernerator with a terrible supply chain unequipped to handle growth. And they don’t even make a quality car. He gets away with terrible WLB because the mission is to “save the world”, which isn’t even the case because he does plenty of environmentally unconscious things with teslas in the building process as wel as tries to make it harder for other companies to enter the market. At spaceX he hasn’t done anything himself, he’s taken credit for a lot of ideas that brilliant people had and fired them with NDA and small severance. They’ve gone on to found other companies and spaceX is starting to be caught and is struggling to find top level people now. The more involved with it he’s been the worse it’s gotten, the more he stays away the better they’ve done.

Respect for making that much money, and if you can get away with it keep going, but no he would not be a good boss or good for the company.

Elon has been lying about the degree he didn’t obtain for about three decades now. Seems like an honest guy I’d love to work for.

Assuming it’s a troll post considering what an absolute dumpster fire Twitter is rn?

And by make people work hard again are you (a) referring to how he went back on prohibiting wfh home because whoops everyone was quitting that he didn’t already fire, or (b) are you suggesting that you emulate how hard he works by spending a major portion of your day on social media retweeting memes?

Three cheers for the richest man on the planet trying to squeeze 80hr/wk out of befuddled employees at a company he’s destroying!

May the odds forever be in favor of our overlords!

“If Elon took over EM like Twitter. Things would look good on both side.”

I really don’t get this general hard-on that people working in O&G have for Musk.

Most of you lack the skills to get hired at any of his companies, and if you were hired, most of you would not be able to handle the pace or workload. SpaceX found this out the hard way when they hired a bunch of supposed “experts” from various O&G companies, only to find out that none of them knew where or how to start a problem.

If you really like the way he does things, apply to one of his companies. Let us all know how far you get.

If you aren’t working that can be fixed by moving to the Permian. More than enough work for everyone there.
