First thing is to actually manage people and the job. Every group is going in different directions due to the PDS and the idea your only successful if your moving every 36 months.

Really the business model needs to change from top to bottom.

Sitting in on Zoom calls and cutting/pasting pics into a PPT isn’t a “talent” guy.

Companies need people with cutting-edge skills. Some of you have kept up, most of you haven’t, and have no demonstrable interest in doing so.

“Something, something institutional knowledge…”

We can call BS on that. The so-called “institutional knowledge” that many of you think you have consists of paywalled industry standards. You look them up, tweak the wording, then write it up as a “best practice”. Any sniffling zoomer fresh out of school can do the same thing for $80k/year, plus they can actually use a computer.

The “solution” is for people who should move to move on.

Every person they have to hire will be less skilled, less trained, and more expensive. It would be better to just compensate competitively.

And I am not saying experienced hires are less skilled. But 6mo-1yr to find a candidate and then the onboarding time for them to learn our dysfunctional work processes? Like 2+ years of efficiency is lost.
