I was just laid off. Completely blindsided after 15 years of excellent JDs and building my career here. Workload has been so heavy that it never even occurred to to me that they would eliminate the position. Found something with a better salary and benefits almost right away. It’s no secret that this is now a terrible company to work for since Amazon. And even worse if you remember how wonderful it was before 2018.

That is funny. Central really knows local well...so well that they allocated Ice Melt to the entire Florida region. Way to go, central....way to go.
Regional Foragers/ Category Managers - everything going to CEN. Local is about to be streamlined even more.
The SSS is a low level job no reason to cut it. Plus the teams can barely keep up with the work on the sales floor. Tag maintenance is horrendous across the NA region.

My guess on next layoffs is SSS since it's been whittled down to nothing. Teams can print their own tags. Everclean already does audits.

i can see them pulling some layoffs after the holidays....come jan 3rd...once the christmas music is over....that sss position always getting threatened,tms too....buyers once and for all????(they could just make the atl and team leaders do the buying...ecommerce leadership positions????

I am pleased to hear that you found something after 15 years. With the Amazon buyout in 2017, the writing was clearly on the wall. I did 'jump-ship as well after more than a decade in service. This is most certainly not the same company as what it was in the early 2000's. I still have friends there. Some of them have given so much of service that their age is now against them, as a result finding a job is not easy. Good luck in your new position. BTW what position was eliminated and region please?
