Fido needs to reward hard work

I've been here long enough to notice that those who are good at their jobs and who work very hard often don't get promoted, not even those who have superb interpersonal skills. This way Fido sends message that being good at what you do is not enough. It is precisely for this reason that employees are demotivated and continue to work only as necessary to get the work done, until they finally leave for a place where their hard work will be rewarded. The way in which Fido manages promotions is doing great harm to this place.

I hear ya. You're not alone. I've had 11 managers in the last 10 years. I cannot keep thinking that my manager thru Apr-Sept is going to be the same manager thru Dec. Nuts but so f-n true. For real, how can anyone ever expect to get promoted in place if they always have a "new" manager every 9 months. ridiculous. Been going on for a f-n decade!!!!!.... Um, in that case, the only way to get promoted is to promote yourself. Update your resume. Apply. And I will tell ya that if you are already vested, then apply within the company.

Hard work is good, but only if the person doing the hard work is competent. Otherwise it’s a problem. One of my worst Fido memories was working on a high profile project with someone who was hard working, over the top type A type but who simply didn’t know what they were doing and they were intransigent on top of it.

So much of it depends on which business you are in. Personal Investing associates that are below director level actually stand a chance at getting shares if they are top performers. In FBOT it's a totally different story. Not many of the treats make it down below VP level. Small wonder why FBOT is losing their top performers to PI or leaving the company altogether.
