Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Intel grown up to be a Banana Republic

The psyche at the company is more like, all the time yes boss to commanders by the trusted lietanants who are in charge of execution. They go on putting a rosy picture on Circuit every day.

At the ground level, everyone is suspicioius of the other team member , distrusting the other, feeling insecure, restless, trying desperately to find another opportunity but at the same time everyday is fooled in thinking that one day the republic will glow.

Wishful thinking indeed!

As someone who got an SL3 and ACT a little over a year after getting recruited to intel because my knucklehead manager thought that "being new to intel" was grounds for lower stock allocation...I still marvel at how misguided it all was.

SL levels are no more, they stopped 4 years ago. It was an old practice. They keep changing the RSU granting structure, all base got a boost last time they gave them out as well as the quarterly vesting schedule bring it down to 3 years from the annual vest that took 4 years. WHo knows what the future holds with them delaying rewards cycle a quarter.

Layoff in 2016 anyone that got SL3 or lower was alaid off. Intel lost a lot of talent and destroyed trust. BK led that effort. Start of Intel decline can be traced back to that. Those employees likely should be credited for both AMD and Apples insurgence and current domination of Intel in performance and market performance.

I see people here talk about “stock levels” a lot. How do you know what stock level you were awarded? Does this show on your rewards statement? I’ve been at Intel 3 years and have received several stock awards but no idea how they were “graded”.

One guy got a stock-level 3 because he had just got a promotion 1-2 years back and the manager wanted to spread the budget to others. One woman who was a good worker had taken a maternity leave that year so was given a stock-level3 so others in the team could get more money!

This is what happens with incessant growth. Hiring fake-engineers who talk endlessly, fake masters candidates with H1B visas and more minority fakes. And on top of that laying off many good guys because they got one stock-level 3!
