Thread regarding Bank of America layoffs

Shared Stock Regrets..

So the bank gives out shared stocks as incentive for retention.. but I’m pretty sure they’re realizing employees would have preferred cash money NOW vs 4+ years from now considering the inflation struggles for most families.

The original emails stated that if we didn’t make the time to call and set this up, they (HR?) would do it for us by “X” date. Well… they may be regretting this because there are MANY folks who haven’t had time to take care of this and I’m guessing they/HR can’t handle the workload. Guess what.. we all have the workload of 3 associates and we’re too busy to deal with it (and most folks don’t want to deal with it on personal time), so they can pipe down with all the pushy emails trying to force us to figure out what do do with this d-mb a-s stock that will probably interested give the bank a tax break and be worthless to us 4 years from now (if we even stay with the bank because honestly a WFH position that pays better is still everyone’s goal).

Meanwhile, we watch the stock price decline year after year after they take credit for their "generosity" so "everyone has skin in the game", except that we do not make any of the decisions that lead to the continual decline in value of the awarded shares while we await the eventual "vesting".

Plus, the program is too d@mn complicated for most employees, so BAC takes credit for their "generosity", but not everyone knows were to go to "click the boxes" -- so mngt does not have to pay anything.

Once again, they choose headlines over a truly rewarding Employee Experience.

Just give us the d@mn cash.

Takes 4 years to fully vest.
They give us the workload of 4 associates this day- then say we have to use our personal time to accept the RSU (THAT THEY ONLY GAVE US BECAUSE IT BENEFITS THE BANK $$) - I mean, give us cash money TODAY vs another damn call to make. And they can get off our @SS - if we haven’t had time to accept it by now, then oh well! I don’t care. Too busy.

You are seriously complaining about getting RSUs that start vesting after one year and takes about 10 minutes to accept and set up the initial brokerage account online? the level of whining on this site is unreal.
