It's not a Cisco-specific thing. Layoffs happen in nearly every company and every industry. It's a fact of life. Listening to people being shocked that we're having layoffs and lamenting over what a lousy company Cisco is because of it is frankly both funny and sad. Did you never work at another major company? How did you get such a sheltered view of your work life?

There have been a series of layoff rumors in this thread for the past few months, but those are all lies and pranks. Don't believe those threads.
Sure layoffs are common. But ask yourself this: are they really required? What difference does it make at the end of the day? MM received a $19M sign-on bonus. CR pocketed over $20M in salary. Millions and millions are wasted on hiring Oprah and other people totally unrelated to anything Cisco. Do we really have to let go employees trying to make ends meet? What for?
Cisco has a history of this game.. Speak publicly about de-investing in non growth to investing in growth areas. Same play book, rinse and repeat. Let's state facts, Top Line Revenue for this company has been flat since current administration has been in place, while lining their pockets with loads of stock.. Not rumors, just public Proxy statement facts. If they didn't like you they pay you to leave, if they like you, they do what they can to make you want to leave for free. So many $100's of millions spent to recruit Executives, while paying 100's of millions for others to leave. I'll bet the top are still flying private, while they "restructure".
Ex- or not, running a business that lays off THOUSANDS right before the holidays talks more of Scrooge and the humbug attitude of investors than of a proud company that manages its growth and exhibits the human touch that it talks about so much.
It’s also known as hypocrisy.
I think most of them are trolls or have never paid attention to big tech trends. Even doing basic research turns up the probability of LRs.
True points. Perspective. All things considered it is a pretty solid plan to move forward. Yes, we have our issues and we are not perfect. Yes ELT is working to make the best of the situation. With iACV rolled back they did show faith in ways that were not working yet. Not all bad. Misery does love company though.
I’m convinced they are either salty ex-Cisco employees or current employees who probably shouldn’t be here in the first place
