Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

Outsourcing root of discontent

The employees that are in India etc and stealing American jobs think they are bad A's now but just wait, this can flip on them in a heartbeat and they will be the ones being dumped! Look at all of the TECH layoffs currently and how many of those are people working here on Visas that will whiplash them back where they came from if they can't find employment fast enough. What goes around comes around and Americans are only going to tolerate outsourcing for so long before laws are enforced to limit it. So go ahead and gloat. Americans will have the last laugh and Exxonmobil will be stopped from giving away our jobs and hurting the American economy. Arrogance and lack of loyalty will catch up with them. Think AMERICAN!

@5eyt+1jPz9b82 If you are still in Annandale you MUST be looking for another job right now. They are shutting down the place in 2023. You will be unemployed soon. Get yourself out of there now.

This will accelerate in Annandale 2023.

If others are having issues with BYC work quality like I am the whole BTC experiment will implode. Add to it the constant requests from BTC employees to get visas to come to USA and most people I know are getting tired of the model quickly.

Oh, you fool. Outsourcing has always been around. Those outsourced jobs only come back to America or "Murca" for you Trumpies when it costs more to operate in those countries than in the States. Many call centers were sent overseas and then a few years later they were all here again.

BTC is grossly over staffed, management is well aware so look for an “adjustment” at some point.

I still expect the EMIT employees singing the company’s praises when they get decent raises will have a bad time in the coming years as outsourcing/offshoring continues to accelerate

“The employees that are in India etc and stealing American jobs …”

Nobody in India is “stealing” anything. American jobs are being given to them by American executives, almost all of whom (at least in O&G) are white, Republican men.

You’re being sold out by the exact same people you’ve been worshipping/supporting. Perhaps many of you thought you would make your way to the top and be the ones doing this to others. I guess it’s not so fun to be on the receiving end of it.

Fun fact: Indian-Americans are the highest-educated, highest-salaried group in the United States. That’s what happens when you send your kids to school instead of letting them rot in the basement into their late 30s.

You have nobody to blame but yourselves.

Happy Thanksgiving!

BTC and Indians are not the enemy, executive management is.

Just how do you think a law can force work to return to the US? Do you really think a law can make XOM do work related to Guyana in the US? That is stupidly weak thinking.

@mho+1jPz9b82 I am an employee, been one for 23 years. Global headquarters is in the US, but we are a global company. I wouldn’t call the admin on you. You are however, proving that you are in fact racist by your responses. Your pro-America stance is quaint, even if entirely pointless.

What is the #1 US export????

The US Dollar. If you can't answer this question you're only speaking through emotions and will likely fall for political promises they cannot keep. The reason why our manufacturing jobs were moved overseas is to export US dollars for those goods. And now we've exported services to pay for those services in US dollars. They need those dollars to buy energy. It's as simple as that. The bankers, politicians, CIA, and military industrial complex exist to protect their privilege to print the world reserve currency.

Most people believe in many falsities about how the system works. Everything is a distraction so you never come to realize they operate a ponzi scheme. This is why we have the conflicts today as the world has come to realize they dont want to participate in this continual inflationary ponzi scheme that requires forever money printing. It is debt based system where debt is inflated away. China, Russia, and all countries don't hold debt (US Treasuries). They are assets in their balance books. The value of those assets are subject to increase/decrease in value based on interest rates. Ever heard of the "US dollar wrecking ball"? We are living in those times. There could be more outsourcing to export US dollars to allied countries while our enemies are dollar starved. We are living in that moment. You can blame the Federal Reserve, bankers, and their cronies. With all the problems we have in EM, it's clear in light of everything said, that we have a corruption/culture problem with the "haves".

Capitalism, whist not fundamentally sound perhaps, is definitely being abused as time goes by. Wood's behaviour is symptomatic of that culture, company making huge earnings but poor payrises to employees and it's contractors, but as has been pointed out already, employees selecting to attack their fellow employee and not the system. Blame the system, which perhaps you're unconsciously supporting.

Odd that you point out the need for imported STEM talent in your racist rant. Perhaps America is just becoming less of a talent pool. It’s also your capitalist system that allows this outsourcing to occur so easily, so yeah.

excuse me, no one is stealing any jobs. any employee was HIRED by the company. Based on the decision of the company. Based on the decision of someone in Houston or Dallas.
You are angry with the wrong people.
Responding to a legitimate job opening is not stealing anyone's job. Clearly your analytical skills are subpar.

Also, thank you for making my point!!! You typed - The board thinks about global profits, not American jobs or patriotism. THIS IS THE POINT AND YOU JUST RESTATED IT!! Now you will likely have this thread removed! So predictable!

Display your ignorance! Pro-American! That does NOT make me racist but it does make me proud of this country and protecting it and its legal citizens. Don't really care what you think. Exxonmobil is an American company that does business worldwide. FYI

Americans are very tolerant. Outsourcing has been going on across the economy for decades. EM has been a global company for decades. The board thinks about global profits, not American jobs or patriotism. Your rallying cry rings hollow
