Thread regarding Fidelity Investments layoffs

Anyone know if we will get the extra paycheck at end of the year this year?

We got one the last couple years. Hope to get one again as times are tough and I am getting fed at the soup kitchen.

The last 2 years the extra paycheck payouts were on December 15th. So there probably isn’t going to be one this year.

Well back to the point…bonus payday is soon. We would know by tomorrow about any extra payment based on history and the fact that people with credit unions would get paid tomorrow.

@@8qxa+1jQ8zWf3 - Fidelity is a great company and believe me I am fully "detached" and loving the fact that I am developing R&D software outside of Financial Services after so many years at FIDO. The fact that I am still following and posting on this site annoys you for some reason even though I only have positive things to say which is WHY I post here. Seriously why are you so negative?

Also - Don't at all be sorry for me that this "dead wood" was "pushed out." Not sure how a push out can also be voluntary but whatever its all so good on the other side here. Hang in there leave your 401K/profit sharing alone and let it grow and hopefully someday you can experience a "push out" too. This is simply a wonderful place to get to where I now choose to work yet I don't actually have to !!!

VBOers, you have missed the point. The fact that you are still following and posting on the site means that you cannot detach from this great company and move on with your lives. I feel sorry for you that you were pushed out but at some point dead wood needs to be cleaned up. This company needs to move into the digital world and obviously you did not have the skills to help in this journey.

@3lgf+1jQ8zWf3 My permanent vacation has only just begun. LOL I hope my fellow VBO'ers continue to post on this site. It is funny to me that you don't want us to post here. From the posts I have read there is more straight talk from VBO people than current employees.

To the VBOer, please move on with your lives and stay away from this site. Your vacation is over and you are not part of this great company. The rest of us will help this company move to the digital world and will be well compensated for it. I love Fidelity. Sorry you are part of this great company.

With the flood of layoffs in tech over the last month I’d put money on low pay increases, nowhere near inflation rate, something like 2-3%. Abby might give out some sort of extra bonus but it will in no way be meaningful.

I sure hope so. Many of us have been struggling and some of us even living paycheck to paycheck with inflation.

2 years ago was an extra paycheck, last year was $5000 for full timers, $2500 for part timers I think. And a couple of other Abby years we got an extra check, too. We will know within a couple of weeks. They seem to tell us right before the first December check about bonuses.

Left Fido December 2022 VBO, Ned did that a couple times and A J did in 2018? They can save alot of $$ with WFH and no Xmas parties. Wonder if Crypto is still profitable?. They need to keep the front liners motivated. OT should be huge but I am out of the loop with Phone volumes although there should be alot of tax lot havesting this year unfortunately. Hang in there many are using local food resources. A J did inherit alot of assets this year. Fido usually has a nice Holiday surprise..

for what it's worth, I had put in a lot of raises for my team. I think a lot of those will go through specially for 7 and below. Nothing is sure yet. I really hope the firm is generous , specially for 1-5 grades.

It’s pretty sad that we work at such a rich company and can’t make ends meet. So much money goes to execs. It would be nice for front liner workers to see far more.

No idea. I’ve heard raises, bonuses, and profit sharing should be good this year and reach more people. I am sorry you’re having a tough time. I am too. Tons and tons of debt. Hopefully things turn around and sooner than later.
If you’re hourly, OT prob pays more than a second job anywhere. Might be able to find some part time online gigs. Anything you can offer on Fivrr?
