I am trying to think of the emergency scenario where I would need to be contacted and respond within about an hour. There is nothing I do in my job where that would be necessary.

Once they took the corporate cell phone, it usually takes a couple weeks before I notice I have missed calls or texts to the unreliable google voice number. My productivity is way down since I can no longer get called, or respond to emails/IM's outside M-F business hours. I guess that is one way they helped me make up for the <2% annual raises.

You must be an absolute nightmare for your boss.
If anyone records the 1 minute they work for this into workday, that should be grounds for automatic termination. We don’t even want this type of person in the workforce, let alone our company.
Bless you’re heart. 2 calls, 3 texts, you’re doing it wrong
Make sure those non exempt record that as time worked.. the phone call and text message
you should hope (and pray if that's your thing) that you never need to experience an event like they are testing this for...
but yes, it's good that they have it AND that they test it.
If the text or email does not directly come from wellsfargo.com, it gets reported as phishing/spam. I am so tired of this company sending me trick emails that I’ve gotten to the point that I’m just sending most of everything to phishing/spam. I’m too busy watching television to have to deal with all this other junk.
agree with OP, they are not important enough for Wells to try so hard to reach them.
I’ve never seen people complain so much over something that takes seconds to respond to. You’ve spent more time here complaining than the test took! & it’s only a systems test not some nefarious evil plan by management. It’s like no one has ever worked in a big corporate company. Pretty standard people!
I had 11 calls and 5 text messages. I was in a class and with friends after for an hour.
If you look back at the pattern it happens every 2 months around the end of the month for some time now…not all that bizarre. I’m sure something is still coming down the road but this is how they desensitize us to it.
Only alerts I need are when Charlie and the NYC cronies move on to sc--w up another company.
Thank you for the reminder that Wells truly does care about my health and safety. Hopefully when there was the shooting in Charlotte, people were alerted as promptly and as frequently so Wells could verify everyone was safe and sound. It's good to know that if I don't respond right away, they will keep trying. Never give up!
It's for emergencies. Usually if there is a shooter in the building, a riot outside of the building, 9/11 sort of situation, earthquake. Believe me, you will be thankful for it if they have to use it and it impacts you.
Just one more annoyance from WF!
If they want 24/7 access, issue a phone. Otherwise I'll respond in the morning.
I was wondering the same thing. Holiday week also and they are testing it out?
