Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

Those who stay

While I am quite stressed about whether I will be a target or not, I am thinking about whether those who remain will have the opportunity next year to witness some new bad acquisition in a series of bad acquisitions in this company... What do you think?

  • people at Cisco with DUIs and can't pass a background check anymore-

That’s not true. Hiring pools would be decimated everywhere if it was. DUI’s are misdemeanors.
Besides, corporate bylaws are changing. Several companies hire convicted felons on a case-by-case basis, thanks to second chance programs.

Every IT company in TheLayoff is conducting LRs. Cisco is not alone in this. Look at comments in Aruba, HP, Palo and Juniper threads.
I’m older, not far from retirement So LR is good for me. Not so much for younger folks, I feel for you. Glad I not a younger person in IT these days.

Put a B in front of any scam and you get a pass. That's what I just learned.

I know a few people at Cisco with DUIs and can't pass a background check anymore. It's actually rather comical the types that are trapped.

The majority of people that are still at Cisco are either lazy or afraid of change
All the good talent left over the past decade and work for competitors which is why Cisco loses market share every quarter in all product areas
