Quality is a problem due to the same VP, Directors, managers. Spvrs. they are responsible for all quality problems, they should be fired (Gray, Trent, Reyes, Gardner, etc.). How can JF justify to keep the same losers that created the quality issues Ford is facing today ? There is lack of accountability at all LL's positions, Boston Consulting should be looking at those mo--n who are still around at LL levels and fire them on the spot.
They should bring all those Tech Specs that were fired to replace all LL's who do not deserve to have a job at Ford.
Quality is an issue where Spvrs, managers and Chief Engineers have direct responsibility. Many quality issues are driven by bad decisions by those LL's but as usual engineers are emasculated ones following orders just to be labeled under performing and being asked to leave.
There is no Supervisor and manager who deserves to continue employed is their parts have quality issues.
Of course, the good old boy network protects inefficient LL's, if you are white male or white female no problem, the blame goes to minorities or India or Brazil. Look as the hierarchy a bunch of entitled losers who blame non-whites for their lack of competence.

The only great leaders are the ones that understand the process inside out. Farley should be on stage.... what a joke. And what does this say about Bill Ford?
He has been around all these years and doesn't have a clue.

When we were starting out with EFI in the early 80s, the electrical components passed bench tests but could not withstand real-world automotive environmental factors and combined effects. It took a great deal of learning at the vehicle-level (plus systems engineering) to overcome those obstacles. Now it looks like we are back where we started 30 years ago.

The person who could have led us out of this bad quality nightmare is now President and CEO of CSX.

Quality controls require consistent processes with continual iterative improvements along with basic common engineering sense.

The problem at Ford is management is continually chasing after some butterfly / squirrel. There is forever some consulting company selling the latest fad/trend to gullible execs. All of the work engineers carefully put into building quality processes is abandoned and we chase after some butterfly. Success is declared even for clear failures, promotions all around. Oh there’s a squirrel off we go chasing a new fad. The chase is on let’’s all applaud like good spectators. Popcorn anyone?

Hey farley bring in boston consulting to guide you. They sure did a great job at the benchmark center for competitive analysis........ not!

If ford promoted from within its executives would know what to do but they don't have a clue.
Dont tell them any bad news they might have ti do something.

@ith+1jRMzeMx Any mo--n knows quality is fundamental when producing something that should last for years. As you said, upper management only has "wishes", no clue of what to do or how to achieve it. So why are we paying millions of dollars to these mo--ns?

Farley knows quality is important, I was there in 2009 when he told Bennie Fowler that quality "had to be there" for the company to turn around. The problem is Farley lacks the knowledge about quality to lead us out of this mess and none of the leadership team has the courage to tell him the truth.
