How do you hire a CIO that works in his basement 3000 miles away from Cisco HQ after being thrown to the curb by his previous employer?

IT's VPN su*ks

Compared to using a browser-based plug-in and a certificate and only having traffic that goes through your browser is a better solution? I'll take Cisco's AnyConnect over the F5 VPN solution any day and twice on Sunday.

I've worked at other companies that have used Cisco's VPN. I forget what it was called before it became AnyConnect, but it's icon was the yellow lock. One company had it set to expire the session every 9 hrs, and yes, that sucked. But that was a company decision, not Cisco's fault.

Wow, whoever that new dude was, it did not start well. He may want CISCO to be but the reality will like CISCO is average or below average in Hybrid work. IT's VPN su*ks

Who’d have thought? We have a CIO.
Anyway, I thought Cisco wanted to be a leader in hybrid INCLUSIVE work.

I really hope that Cisco can make some progress on making the work experience more effective for employees. Lots of people are burnt out and the existing office experience (or lack thereof) kind of sucks tbh. I honestly gave up even going to the office since it was a depressing ghost town. Having things in place to periodically meet up with remote teammates in-person would be nice too.

Of course all of this stuff involves investments from the company, but without it, it’s really hard to retain the right people.
