Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

They don't care about our opinion at all

We can spend days listing all the failures and mistakes made by the leadership in the past decade, we can talk all we want about constructive ways in which it might be possible to fix issues that the company has, but who cares about all that?
The leadership doesn't care. Moreover, I'm pretty sure that most of what we consider big failures they consider to be good moves.

Your employment is "at will." So if you will hard enough you can leave easily.

Then leave.
It’s easy.

True. Pat just started his watch and bet the farm on what he calls 'his moonshot'. He said by 2030 US should have 30% share of semiconductor manufacturing (IDM 2.0). He said he would deliver 5 nodes in 4 years (Feb 2022). He did a deal with the Devil (Congress) to get some tax breaks.

No backing down now. Those two initiatives will be the success or the downfall of the CEO. Given erosion of the core business, we should expect cuts for anything that doesn't have to do with the initiatives. It's a deep valley from here to there. Expect more cuts in 2023 and 2024 even if the 'moonshot' stays on track.

Just pray that we don't here the dreaded, 'Ah Houston, we have a Problem'.
