Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

AppD will be cut

Cisco does not have a clue how to run a software business. AppD is losing to its competitors and will have some layoffs this coming Dec 12. Those who still stay will have to work harder since positions aren’t going to be backfilled. It’s probably a blessing in disguise if you get laid off.

Any idea which team will be impacted at AppD like engineering, product, sales?

To be fair, AppD also doesn't know how to run a software business.

Appd has already been trimming for a year and reduced head count through attrition by 15%. It was already mentioned that CX, support and marketing will be affected as those teams are rolled into existing Cisco teams

Totally agree its left behind in competing with cloud. However if you shed some more info it would rather help. Do we know the layoff is appd ia based on what since my assumption is we are greatly relying on techincal engineering department to fix the issues because theres is nothing to market and Adverstise at this point.Maintaining existing customers and solving ther problem itself is challenging getting new business depends on next year market

Any idea which dept wil be heavily impacted with AppD?
