Some are very good at flying under the radar

Flying under the radar sounds like a terrible advice but I learned the hard way that it is best to never give 100% of yourself. So I try my best not to stand out too much but some people are much better at it than I am. I wonder how they do it.

It's called being self-sufficient. Do your best to deal with things yourself or bounce things off co-workers. Do your work, be consistent, don't make waves, and only bug your manager or higher ups when you have to.

A huge component of this is not constantly asking for help (even if it is to go above and beyond).

If your manager sees you as a “set and forget” employee that would come to work even if you had no manager, they like that.

Flying under the radar is a fantastic idea. This means you’re doing enough to not get fired but doing little enough to have work/life balance.
