Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

Mental health and cruel leadership

Leadership just needs to tell people.

This is high level evil, this wait.

Just get it over with.

" all 3 are a 50k increase and significant signing bonus"

Why would you stay?

I already have 2 verbal offers and 1 written offer. I know I’m a higher performer with high IPF and in top talent but all 3 are a 50k increase and significant signing bonus. I’m waiting to see what happens and if they expect me take on the extra work of LRd people I’ll be leaving too. If they LR me too I’ll only delay start date if stock vesting accelerates.

Stretching it out is going to backfire on Cisco. Many who aren't on the chopping block are updating their resumes and starting to job hunt just in case.

There will be far more top talent (what is left at least) out the door when they find out how below market they are and that the grass is greener on the other side.

I'm falling apart.

Leadership lives in a different world. Job loss to them means they might have to defer buying their fourth home. Job loss to many of us means we lose our one home, can't afford rent, kids have to drop out of college, lose medical care, die.

As a TSA, I've been booking travel and spending on travel to customers to close deals without being told to stop, so it doesn't seem to be hitting us, but who knows at this point.

Managers are getting the lists next week. I’m already interviewing just in case I’m on it. The wait is only adding to our team’s anxiety and our productivity is in decline. We can’t even get approval for team connect lunches we keep being told to wait and ask when they know the budgets. It’s always ask again next week.

The list is made, at least in my org.

Fire, ready, aim may not work better. Tried before.

As someone who is likely on the list, due to being assigned to two high-profile projects that went nowhere and were eventually terminated, I can say that my mental health is pretty fragile right now. I'm not afraid of the LR, or finding another position. It's the timing. Not much you can do in December in the Northeast as far as finding a position.

The worst part is pretending to find meaningful "busy work" every day I wake up. Torture.

I think it is better to take some time and do it more right. Seems like they just thought of the idea about 2 hours before earnings call. Now they need time to plan and execute on it.
