Thread regarding Bank of America layoffs

Layoff mistake

I was laid off & called back within the same day. Big Boss apologized for what she said was an error. So grateful for my job.

Sorry but how the he-l does the company make up for such a traumatic mistake? I’d be extremely upset. I’m so sorry this happened to you.

Another example of a crony or a favorite moved into a leadership position that simply had no clue how to function as a manager and places the company into risky situations.

Happened to me years ago.

My team was moved to a new manager. He started picking us off one by one. About 5 months later I jumped ship to a different org before he picked me off. 2 months into my new job my system accesses started to fail. I called tech support, they couldn't figure out the issue. I don't recall what failed access made me call HR, but when I did, this is what HR told me - "that's what happens when you are layed off". I told HR "nobody told me I'm layed off", her reply "you best speak with your manager".

Lucky for me I had moved to the new org, as my name had made "The List" from a prior manager. I stayed with the bank about 6 more years, then told them to kick rocks this year when they told me to come back to campus after working from home the last 2+ years.

Smells bs.

If true, this was your chance to ask for a better pay or compensation. Technically, you were let go and being rehired, that should've increased your value. Bit then agian, sounds like someone is trying to sell a story to Lifetime channel.

Def just means they either realized that they’d be short staffed without you, or realized they could have an EEOC complaint on their hands… either way doesn’t change the fact that somebody wanted you gone. You being grateful for your job after that situation is like being grateful your lying, cheating, partner came back after they regretted leaving you for somebody else lol.

Which means someone wanted to let you go then someone else realized that they could be in trouble by doing so, then they had to call you back. Usually there were a lists formed by your boss and your org and discussed headcounts with HR. Never heard off things like this.

This company is azz backwards and I have said this repeatedly on this forum. This company has inept managers and leaders. I have ZERO confidence in the leadership of this shlithole bank. They can't even manage one fcking layoff correctly.

That’s terrible! I realize you are thankful to have a job. But honestly, if they can’t manage a layoff, how can they manage peoples money…oh yeah they can’t
