Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

I Trust Mr Stankey and AT&T to do the Right Thing…

My plan is to use the $5k per year of service enhancement to pay off the mortgage and then take the pension option. That will leave me in ship shape to sail off into my golden years and open up a slot for some young buck. Thanks AT&T!😁

This ... this is a joke, right?

Not only is this a joke, but the OP that keeps repeating the same nonsense over and over in various captions is an imb3cile! That's the only truth regarding the OPs statement! The OP has delusions of grandeur and thinks that T will actually pony up!

If you losing 30 % oh your lump sum , 5000 x years of service doesn’t even get you to break even. No deal. Anyone taking that deal next year shouldn’t be working here away. Should be in a movie called D-mb and D-mber.

With severance cut from 12 months to 6, notice to find an opening from 2 months to 2 weeks, what wishful id--t would believe $5,000 per year severance. Union has a contract, management is at will. No federal law requires severance. Look it up on Dept of Labor (DOL) site. Severance is only there because it was listed in employee handbook, a company guarantee. And that will go to 1 month soon.

The past few years it’s been been a difficult decision whether or not to retire. Economy in bad shape, inflation, all that…but this offer would be impossible to refuse. I would definitely go.

Hard to fathom why these T hating blowhards are so negative. There will be an enhanced buyout offer in March. That’s a fact, Jack!

so glad I can say I didn't retire from att. getting more people calling me about their business accounts getting screwed up these days so att must be doing something on the business side.
I just tell them I don't work there any more and to move their service because they cannot be trusted with anything. they say no problem and will do it for the new year. lol ah karma does sux sometimes.

I’ll have 36 years in February. So, $5,000 x 36= $180,000. Wow, that sure would make a difference in my decision making going forward. If the goal is to get rid of the old timers, this would do it!
