Just a few days ago, 10% pay raise was discussed here. Everyone wins with 20% layoff and 10% raise: shareholders get a much needed bump on stock price, executives get their fat bonus, rank and file get their raise, janitors get more free time, consumers get CPUs made by happier people, the world becomes a better place with less people suffering under Intel management, PG gets his sainthood along side BK. What's not to like?

Yeah Pat sucks. So does the Board.
How classy is it for our deeply religious CEO to layoff people just before the holidays. Pat is a total failure and a complete hypocrite like other religious fanatical nut jobs.
I believed that having an insider as CEO will help intel avoid becoming the next Hp. HP was “reinvented” under the complete outsider, marketing buzzword machine Carly Fiorina. She called the very first layoff she implemented in HP’s history “marketing reinvention” which resulted in firing thousands of marketing employees across the company. This was only the beginning. Every 6 months HP was reinvented.
I thought intel will avoid this with an insider, technical CEO. Boy was I wrong. Pat is like Carly fiorina. He talks about the biggest “transformation” in intel’s history. reinvent, transform. Tomato, tomato. Same same. It is all bunch of marketing gimmicks.
While the company is going downhill, he pocketed over $100 million dollars - doing what. Revenue is down, stock is below half its value when he started. Employees are leaving. I don’t know who is answering all those employee surveys. I don’t.
Now we are going to have layoffs after a huge hiring binge. Weren’t we hiring 25000 people in the first half. He is clueless. He is incompetent. And yet, he is rewarded while good people are going to lose their jobs.
Intel is HP. Unavoidable. It is only downhill from here. His exec team, his so called “dream team” are D team. Randhir to create Next foundry, Raja, our GPU business, Sandra our data center leadership - the list goes on…..he is a c player who hires D players.
His next big gimmick will be to merge with a loser company. Game over…
