It’s not considered collaboration if you’re all sitting quietly next to each other not speaking. This is so lame and useless.

How is it collaboration if half my team is in India , the rest in their respective offices in Charlotte, Arizona and Des Moines ? Like I should drive 40 minutes everyday to go sit in an office where only one other member is from my team and all the rest are conferencing from Charlotte or India ? How about sending me to India on an expat salary to increase collaboration?
I don't have time to talk about the weather with random people from other groups, and they have no business need to know about my work stuff. So yeah, noise cancelling headphones on, head down, and work, while pi---d off about how stupid our executives are. I honestly don't know how long I can do it. It pi---s me off every single time I think about it. The entire team in NYC needs to be fired. All of them, from top to bottom.

OP I have to agree. I collaborated more in kindergarten than I ever have or will on this failed RTO mandate.
How about instead of tracking our badge swipes why don’t you track our actual conversations in person since that’s your real goal? Losers.

Don’t bring me back to the office. I’ll be hanging out at the water cooler the whole time. Even better, swipe my badge at the office, then leave and hang out at Starbucks, the rest of the day.
Just start talking to people and see what happens. Someone has to go first in a conversation.
The C suite just came up with that whole "collaboration" nonsense because they thought it would sound better than taking us all that the real reason for RTO is related to taxes around WF real estate.
These buildings need to be occupied more than half the time to fulfill some tax break, so we're all pointlessly forced into the office under a series of lies for why.
RTO consistently makes me want to do the absolute BARE minimum everyday. My trove of excuses continues to grow.
RTO is just a big game of chicken that WF has zero chance of winning in the long run.
Same boat today. No one talks. No one collaborates. Everyone on conference calls. RTO is really an abysmal failure. Subjecting employees to a requirement of 3 days in the office during record inflation and gouging gas prices has been an absolute burden on everyone but the C suite. I’ve lost count of how many peers have had to get second jobs and loose sleep and time with their families to put gas in their tanks to go into an office where no one collaborates. It’s absolute corporate theatre. Wells Fargo should be ashamed. The flippant “Let them eat cake” attitude of management is as horrifying as it is belittling.
How about a 20% pay increase across the board to make up for the last 30 years of stagnant wage growth? We literally have a CEO who makes 320 times more than his lowest paid employees. Making other people rich at the cost of our own dignity isn’t really conducive to a healthy work environment. It reeks of greed and exploitation. There is no longevity in any strategy making the rounds. It’s all a short term, get rich pump and dump designed to artificially inflate stock prices and dividend payouts. “Live fast, die hard, and leave a pretty corpse” should be the corporate moto instead of “Together we’ll go far”.
