There is yet another tidbit in the seeking alpha article. Consulting is staffed at approx 150k employees representing 2/3rds of IBM’s worldwide head count. That means all of SW and Infrastructure have approx 75k worth of employees. Take the 225k and compare it to the 282k that IBM announced in the annual report, and it says IBM has been rather busy reducing headcount. This data is a little old, but Rosamillia approx 9 months ago said “infrastructure” had approx 30k worth of employees. (He mentioned this In the Feb to March time frame) That means SW has 45k of employees. Given that IBM has to get down to 180-190k worth of employees and factoring in GBS slowing hiring, it says maybe 20k coming out of Infrastructure and 20k coming out of GBS

Yet another analyst saying the same thing. 3rd q may be light. If you read to the bottom, he speculates IBM will spin-off Infrastructure

Is anyone surprised? It is only going to get worse.

  1. IBM sucks and has no clue on how to run its business
  2. A recession is coming... even faster than Winter!

This IBM company is doomed as long as it has id--ts as executives.
