Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

How many are looking forward to layoffs?

I know many are worried but I and a few other people I know are looking forward to cuts and hoping we get served with walking papers. After all, severance is the only reason I'm still here. At this point, I wouldn't be surprised if more than half of the employees feel the exact same way.

I wouldn't mind retiring a little earlier than I expected if it wasn't for the economic downturn and the racing inflation eating away at pension savings.

I feel a moral obligation to keep working as long as I can.

But if I get the bullet, great! I've never been laid off before, it would be a new experience at least.

I’m on the fence. As the family breadwinner I’m not looking forward to the job insecurity. From a professional development perspective it’s a good opportunity.

Its a win/win situation for some us really.
A payday & finally move on or the runner up prize of easier parking..

As a newer employee I'm not looking forward to the purge of Senior Techs in the fabs. Tribal knowledge is disappearing and on 20-30 year old equipment, it's needed.
