This was said before and I'll say it again, there are a lot of employees at Intel who shouldn't be here. There are plenty of sycophants and nepotism babies who do nothing but kiss a-s all day. But that's not all. If we get rid of a whole management level I doubt anybody would notice (although Microsoft would record a drop in the use of PowerPoint). Sadly, when this is over, I'm betting you all of them will still be here.

True. But the DB person who gets the list needs to figure out what criteria needs to passed to query to filter for ‘fat’. My bet is that the person is either too lazy or not clever enough. Same thing like ACT will be repeated.

The sycophants, nepotists and politically-connected rats will actually get promoted during this layoff (as they were during ACT). The hard-working, smart engineers (if there are any still left) will get kicked to the curb as part of political vendettas from their slacker, ignorant managers as they make them look bad. Intel is completely and absolutely lost.
