You guys remember that young CEO of Better.com Vishal Garg that laid off 900 of his employees using Zoom? What if Intel is planning the same otherwise processing exit interview for 20 to 30K employees will take months. This needs to be done quickly and in 2 weeks. I just can't see how they can do this in couple weeks. Ship sinking FAST.

@1dxh+1jdVcaem, Agreed. They will be off the books by Dec 31st. Two months is enough time to clean up. Personally, I think they will fire 10% for now. Wait and see and do more firing next year if needed.
Intel can’t improve in process technology, but one area they have improved their efficiency significantly is layoffs. In the early 2000s, it was a 3 quarter affair — first quarter to analyze how many to lay off and analyze the org and distribute cuts across major divisions, second quarter to map those big-bucket layoff numbers to specific individuals, and quarter three to implement it. 2016 was a landmark effort — figures it out in March, announced in April, and everyone was out the door before end of June. 4 months.
This one might be done in 3 months, as I’m sure they intend to have all of the laid off people off the books before year end.
During the layoffs that happened in 2001 following the dot com crash I remember some groups sent out meeting notices to the affected teams. If your meeting was in room A you had a job, if your meeting was in room B you got walked out. Classy people management... don't under estimate how much Intel will f--k you over. They have a corporate history.
Intel has a long history of big layoffs, it is one of the things that they do consistently well. I lived though over 20 years of this stress. The meetings, if they happen, don't take long. 20-30K people will be gone in a day. The people who do most of the work are the IT techs that remove your access.
