Does anyone have positive insight into what is going on with the WF internal hiring process? Most companies treat their internal applicants like gold. Anyone looking to move within the COO for example is considered a poached role. I have applied for countless positions and they just sit in review for months. The topic keeps coming up on this site. What in the world is going on? Is there a job freeze, is it DEI, are they trying to hire external vs internal, are we paid too much they don’t want to move us? I cannot get answers from management friends, and myself as a previous WF manager am also unclear on what the f is going on. My organization reports that they are unable to find quality candidates. Seriously something g is way wrong and I am stuck in a role and having trouble moving up. Anyone else dealing with this?

Don't keep yourself up figuring out the lack of logic.
Wells Fargo has gone to he-l on a handbag. I was forced out and was so angry about it but now that I’m no longer there, not only am I happy but I realize they did me a favor. Most of the good people are gone. That says a lot in itself. The stress while working there the last year I was there almost ki---d me. If you care about your wellbeing get out on your terms before they force you out. Worst company I have ever worked for.
Recruiting is f'ed. Simple as that. I've applied for several positions with FAR more than the minimize they list + most/all of the desired. Not even a screen from a contract recruiter. I've also reached out to the hiring leader.
I sometimes think I'm blackballed from the org where I'm applying.
Here’s a tragic story for you. I once had a supervisor who asked me to participate in the interview process for a new administrative assistant. For the life of me, I could not determine an appropriate admin, even those first screened by the recruiter. My supervisor, thinking I’m probably incompetent, Interviewed and hired an admin. Turns out, the new hire was even less qualified than those I interviewed. My supervisor eventually came to me discuss how to manage this individual out. Don’t recall the details, the admin finally left, or for that matter, was managed out.
Never again will I participate in the interview process for someone else.
The story probably wasn’t relevant to this thread, but I felt like chiming in.
@xsj+1jeVI1i3 This is why as a hiring manager I insist that I get to review all resumes, and I provide a list of screening candidates to the recruiter, if they review them and determine additional candidates also need to be screened, so be it.
HR is a hot mess and has been for a long time. That is yet another area of the bank that Scharf has done nothing to improve or clean up.
I have a friend who is a manager who ran in to a woman in the cafeteria. The woman asked my manager/friend why she didn’t get a chance to interview for an opening in our department. My friend stumbled a bit and apologized, and then told me that she didn’t know this woman had even applied. She called HR when we got back to our desks and was told that the internal recruiter didn’t forward (not sure of the process) the application because she didn’t think the woman was a good fit for the job. My manager/friend was angry because she said the applicants who had been sent her way were inadequate and looked like they were picked up off the street.
Same old WF Schitt Show is all. They treat their people like TRASH, it's nothing new! Just leave. You'll be happier.
They are severely short staffed and the people they do have are basically id--ts
Agile is a complete joke with fake metrics fed to the enterprise level to keep them happy and not asking questions of why it isn't working.
I have seen multiple job openings where very qualified internal candidates were unable to get the job and it go to external candidates.
I've seen people moved into new positions without a job ever being posted, leaving others wondering why they did not have a chance to apply as well.
I have no idea what is going on.
its all about Agile and since there are a lot of internal with many years of service, they don’t have a lot of experience with Agile. Therefore, external hires with Agile are preferred.
