Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Will Santone ever crackdown on overemployment?

I've had another full time job in addition to my T job for over two years now. They call it overemployment, however, I'm exceeding standards in both jobs. My combined salary is $318K. I'm comfortable in my positions and cannot understand why it's frowned upon by companies. Take for instance Elon Musk, he runs several companies and is celebrated for doing so. What's the difference? None, if you ask me. I realize that if I get busted I'll likely lose both jobs, until then it's keep on keeping on.

T couldn't care less if you work at 5 other companies as long as you do your job within AT&T that you are getting paid to do and none of the other companies are competitors! Unless you're on-call 24x7, what difference would it make!

Nothing illegal or unethical about it. Make all the money you can while you are young.

Not likely Santone will go on a witch hunt. Overemployment is not pervasive at at&t. Besides myself I only know of four others that are employed at another company.

I doubt Santone has ever heard of overemployment. If so, she would never understand it.

Companies , can easily purchase for services that cross reference your SSN with paycheck payment processors ,and look for duplications.. most probably don't care , but some might..

There’s nothing preventing you from having two jobs unless the other company is a competitor.

Not sure how Santone would ever find out if you didn't tell her.

It's none of their business. I would strongly advise anyone participating in overemployment to keep a low profile. Companies are starting to catch on, including Santone, expect a major witch hunt to ensue. I'm so thankful for telecommuting, without it, overemployment would never be an option!
