I think you have not hear about Midland and Delaware about how they handle this kind of situation.

I have an Asian boss that hates white people so it’s balancing out. She is constantly threatening her employees and she is known for ruining careers and sections. She’s already been to HR numerous times. Horrible excuse for a person much less a sls.

I forgot about the old. An older team lead was once told he could not compete against the younger kids. Even if he was more experienced and worked harder than the youngsters he would continue to drop in ranking. He was told they could hire 3 FTEs in place of him because of his high pay. He was pushed out by the threats of lower ranking and possible PIP. Of course this was told by mouth to the older employee so no paper trail or email. He left shortly after this conversation by retiring. Exxon has favorites and they are usually young.

Nice to know I wasn’t the only one to be told that. I hear she’s still dirt rolling folks in her new section.

XOM gets rid of older more experienced employees than any company out there, absolutely zero loyalty. The Permian management is a joke.

The ‘clubs’ are still around at EM, it’s all about who’s in power and they are expected to bring their ‘club’ members with them sans push down the next closest rising ‘club’. Dealers choice of ‘club’ it can be race, gender, alma-mater, passport or orientation. It’s the lifeblood of the EM culture, there is a generation in power at EM because of it….it’s not changing just going underground!!

How do you struggle as a minority in a workplace that goes out of its way to assign you special counseling and support in addition to your normal functional guidance? Genuine question, what would it take to not feel marginalized?

I say all companies are racist if they follow affirmative action. If you hire someone based off of their race then you are inherently being racist. Hire and promote based on skills and experience and nothing else.

Does Exxonmobil hate all races, ages and genders? I think there are just way too many whiners who want to get something for free or easy just because of their gender, race or age!! How about you just do the work and not want to get something because of those pathetic excuses but for your work ethic. And don't claim how hard you work because obviously you spent to much time thinking about the free ride business!!!

I want to say that I saw this happen to a white male as well. This talented engineer was disliked by the older white engineers. They complained about him riding his bike to work. They older haters ridiculed his presentations and data. The young engineer knew his days were numbered. He got some training and left Exxon to work as a forensic engineer. He lived happily ever after. I posted earlier about the Asian and just wanted to be fair. Exxon doesn't discriminate it hates all races, genders, colleges and levels of education.

I remember a group of highly skilled employees who happened to be Asian sued Exxon because they were routinely denied leadership positions despite being qualified. I believe Exxon settled the suit, but it was common knowledge the company was guilty of discrimination.

Years ago an Asian I knew went through this. They were constantly berated by the less educated whites. The whites said the Asian was messy and did not complete his work. The good old boy supervisor listened to the whites and dropped the Asian fellow to the bottom. He was PIP ed as a result and suffered for a few years at Exxon. This person was talented and left after a few more years. I told him he should find a new job and leave. The new company gave him a chance to use his talents and shine. He suffered for many years at Exxon. I know of several minorities and women that have experienced this. The racism and male chauvinism was worse in the past but is still alive at good ol boy Exxon.
