Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Decimation

The English word "decimation" comes from the Roman Legions. If they fought poorly, lots were drawn (short stick) so 1 in 10 was chosen for decimation. The other nine were ordered to ki-l the tenth. That's decimation. There was no term for 20% ki---d off..... Intel has had a long track history of layoffs since way back in the early 1980s when DRAM memory was having sales problems and the 8080/8086 had not yet been so successful.
